Our Modern Foreign Languages curriculum encourages children:
- to foster an interest and positive attitude towards learning other languages;
- to introduce young children to another language in a way that is enjoyable, fun and interactive;
- to make young children aware that language has structure and patterns, and these differ from one language to another;
- to help children to explore and develop an awareness of cultural differences and respect these;
- to develop their speaking and listening skills and an awareness of sounds and written form of a new language;
- to make comparisons between a foreign language and English;
- to have the skills and confidence to express themselves in speech and writing in French;( writing - Key Stage 2)
- to lay the foundations for future study.
